The FDA Released a Cautionary Notice on Mousse Sunscreen
The FDA has issued warnings to several popular sunscreen brands, including Supergoop!, Vacation Inc., Kalani Sunwear, Fallian Cosmeceuticals (TiZo brand), and K & Care Organics, regarding mousse or whipped sunscreen formulations. These products are considered outside the approved formulations like creams, lotions, and sprays. The FDA’s concerns include potential safety risks and the lack of submitted data proving they’re safe and effective. If the brands don’t respond within 15 working days, their products could be removed from the market. In the meantime, consumers are advised to consider other formulations, with recommended alternatives including products from brands like EltaMD and Sun Bum.
