What’s Going On with Glamglow?
Glamglow, a brand owned by Estée Lauder, has removed its ecommerce functionalities and now displays a text-based page on its website. It informs customers that while new orders cannot be processed, support for existing orders and refunds is still available. Glamglow products can still be purchased on Amazon.
Estée Lauder has not commented on whether Glamglow is closing or shifting exclusively to Amazon sales. Acquired in 2014, Glamglow has faced challenges, including layoffs and reduced international operations, now focusing solely on the U.S. market. The brand has narrowed its product line to about 13 best-selling items.
This move is part of a strategy to regain profitability and continue providing products to loyal customers. Glamglow is among Lauder’s California-based brands, alongside Smashbox and Too Faced, and there is speculation about potential divestment. Estée Lauder has engaged an external adviser to consider its brand portfolio’s evolution.
