Expect warmer days for the rest of April 2025.
According to the Meteorological Services Singapore (MSS), inter-monsoon conditions are expected to continue for the month.
In the next two weeks, there might be short-duration thundery showers on most days over parts of the island.
Occasionally, these thundery showers might extend into the evening.
Sumatra squalls are also forecast on a few days, during which there will be widespread thundery showers and gusty winds in the mornings.
Nevertheless, there may be a few days with little rainfall.
The total rainfall for the second fortnight of April is forecast to be near average over most parts of the island.
Meanwhile, the daily maximum temperatures are likely to range between 33°C and 34°C on most days.
However, some days might see highs of around 35°C.
1st half of April 2025
In the first fortnight of April 2025, inter-monsoon conditions prevailed over Singapore as well.
Thundery showers fell over parts of the island in the afternoon and evening on most days.
On Apr. 13, regional convergence of winds led to the development of intense thundery showers in the afternoon.
This led to the highest daily rainfall recorded for the first fortnight of April 2025 — a total of 117mm of rainfall was recorded around the Yishun Ring Road area.
Although it rained across the island on most days, there were nine days when maximum temperatures of 34°C or more were recorded in the first fortnight of April 2025.
The highest daily maximum temperature of 36.2°C was recorded at Paya Lebar on Apr. 12.
Most parts of Singapore recorded above-average rainfall in the first fortnight of April 2025 as well.
The area around Yio Chu Kang Road registered rainfall of about 217 per cent above average, and the area around Kranji Reservoir registered rainfall of about 9 per cent below average.
