L’Oréal Reportedly in Negotiations to Acquire Medik8
L’Oréal is reportedly considering acquiring the premium skin care brand Medik8, known for its focus on vitamin A products. This potential acquisition would enhance L’Oréal’s presence in the dermocosmetics sector. Medik8, founded in 2009 by Elliot Isaacs, is expanding in the US and aims to become a global expert in vitamin A. The brand’s revenues are projected to reach $115 million globally this year, with significant growth expected in 2024. Medik8 has heavily invested in retinal (retinaldehyde), a retinol alternative, particularly within its Crystal Retinal line, which constituted the majority of its retinoid sales in 2023.
