Get ready for warm days with less rain for the rest of May 2025.
In a May 16 media advisory, the Meteorological Service Singapore said that the daily maximum temperatures are likely to be around 34°C on most days for the second half of the month.
On a few days, the maximum temperatures may reach 35°C.
Nevertheless, there may still be thundery showers on some days to counter the heat.
In the first week of the upcoming fortnight, Sumatra squalls may bring widespread thundery showers and gusty winds between the early hours and morning on some days.
Thereafter, localised short-duration thundery showers are expected over parts of the island on a few afternoons.
The total rainfall for the second half of May 2025 is forecast to be near average over most parts of Singapore.
1st half of May was wet & warm
Over the last two weeks, moderate to heavy thundery showers fell over parts of Singapore on most days.
As a result, most parts of the island recorded above average rainfall in the first fortnight of May 2025, with Bukit Timah registering a rainfall about 170 per cent above average.
Despite the rain, the first half of the month was generally hot.
On most days, the daily maximum temperatures were above 34°C.
The highest daily maximum temperature of 35.4°C was recorded at Paya Lebar on May 3.
