Concrete blocks falls off trailer blocking all 3 lanes of Upper Bukit Timah Road – Mothership.SG
Traffic was at a standstill for more than an hour.
Concrete blocks for a construction site fell off a trailer truck along Upper Bukit Timah Road after the cable holding its cargo allegedly snapped.
The police told Mothership they were alerted to an accident involving a trailer along Upper Bukit Timah Road towards Jalan Anak Bukit at around 6:50pm on Apr. 9.
A 54-year-old male trailer driver is assisting with investigations.
A video posted on SG Road Vigilante Facebook showed a truck at the junction of a road, with slabs of concrete blocks on the road.
Workers in orange vests could be seen cordoning off the area with orange cones.
Three lanes of the road were blocked off due to the disruption, with yellow-vested workers shown to be directing the traffic to help ease the road congestion.
The Facebook post caption said the truck was reversing into a small lane when the cables holding its cargo snapped, causing concrete blocks to fall off.
It added that traffic was at a standstill for more than an hour.
According to Google Maps, traffic could not be redirected to the side road on the left as it leads to a dead end.
Police investigations are ongoing.
