How to watch Loh Kean Yew live in action in Ningbo

Badminton‘s 2021 world champion Loh Kean Yew will attempt to win his first continental title this week at the Badminton Asia Championships 2025 in Ningbo, People’s Republic of China.

Loh’s best result in the continental championships came two years ago in Dubai, when the now-27-year-old reached the final before losing to Anthony Ginting, ending up with the silver medal.

He is the eighth seed this year in Ningbo, and begins his competition at the round of 32 stage against Indonesia’s Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo. Loh, who has fallen from a high of world number three to his current ranking of world number 17, holds a career 5-2 record against Wardoyo.

If he gets past Wardoyo, a tough second-round clash against Lakshya Sen could await – or possible Lee Chia-Hao if Lee gets past the Indian. Loh has lost six of his nine career meetings against Sen and will hope to get Chinese Taipei’s Lee instead.

World number one and top seed Shi Yuqi is the other seed in this quarter. Shi knocked Loh out of the All England Open last month at the same quarter-final stage.
