Ohio State Students Establish Pioneering Organization Centered on Skincare, “Clear and Glowing”

Ohio State University has launched its first student organization dedicated to skin care, called Clear and Glowing. Founded by Sara-Sofia Saldarriaga, a second-year finance and marketing student, the club aims to offer a supportive community for students dealing with acne by focusing on skin care education and resources. The club, which began meeting in January 2025, was inspired by Saldarriaga’s personal experiences with hormonal skin issues. It provides a platform for discussions on wellness, helps demystify skin care products and routines, and often features guest speakers from the beauty industry, including professionals from L’Oréal and other brands.

Furthermore, the club has attracted sponsorships from companies like LMNT Electrolytes and Cheryl’s Cookies and has organized product giveaways on Instagram. Looking forward, Clear and Glowing plans to expand its activities, including potentially arranging visits to L’Oréal’s headquarters and hosting larger events like a 5K run to raise awareness for skin cancer. Meetings are held weekly on Tuesdays in Enarson Hall, and updates are regularly posted on the club’s Instagram page.
