SIA x SG60 celebrations: Promo fares, upsized Spontaneous Escapes, special meals and more

Singapore Airlines is celebrating Singapore’s 60th birthday with a series of fare promotions and special offers that kick off this month. 

Highlights include special SG60 fare deals for Singapore Airlines and Scoot flights, a 60% bonus on mileage accrual (but only for Scoot, sadly) additional discounts for KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes, and special meals on flights out of Singapore. 

There’s a lot to cover here, so think of this post as a quick summary. I’ll be publishing dedicated articles for some of these promotions in the days to come, so stay tuned.

SG60 fare deals for SIA and Scoot

Singapore Airlines will be offering special SG60 fare deals from Singapore to 77 destinations worldwide, for bookings made through its website, mobile app and appointed travel agents.

• Booking period: 11-24 April 2025
• Travel period: 12 April to 19 November 2025

Customers who book tickets under this promotion stand a chance to win a pair of SIA Business Class round-trip tickets with hotel accommodation to Seoul, and S$600 worth of Pelago vouchers. Details of the draw will be published on SIA’s website on 11 April 2025.

Scoot will also be offering its own SG60 fare deals from Singapore to 60 destinations worldwide, for bookings made through its website, mobile app and appointed travel agents.

• Booking period: 8-17 April 2025
• Travel period: 14 April 25 October 2025

For the month of May, Scoot’s Gotta Scoot Tuesday promotion will be extended to 60 hours (instead of the usual one day or so), and a 60-hour flash deal will also be offered in June 2025. 

Upsized KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes

KrisFlyer members can look forward to additional discounts for the August 2025 edition of Spontaneous Escapes, which will run for 60 hours from 15 August 2025, 12 p.m to 17 August 2025, 11.59 p.m. This will cover travel from 1-30 September 2025. 

We don’t know how generous the discount will be (is 60% too much to hope for?), but I’d guess it’ll be at least on par with the 40% we saw last month to celebrate KrisFlyer’s 10 millionth member. 

Don’t get too excited— there’s still a while to go before this happens!

60% bonus miles for Scoot flights

KrisFlyer members who book Scoot flights between 15 August 2025, 12 p.m to 17 August 2025, 11.59 p.m will enjoy a 60% bonus on mileage accrual.

Unfortunately, there’s no equivalent offer for Singapore Airlines flights—unlike the 50% bonus offered to both SIA and Scoot flyers during the KrisFlyer 10-million-member celebration.

As a reminder, Scoot customers can earn KrisFlyer miles on base fare (excluding fees and taxes) and add-ons like meals, seat selection and baggage. The regular accrual rate is 1 KrisFlyer mile per S$1 spent, but Singapore Airlines elite members enjoy a 25% accrual bonus.

Therefore, members can expect to earn 1.6 KrisFlyer miles per S$1 spent, before any elite bonuses. It’s unclear whether there will be any cap, but if there is then 5,000 would be my guess. 

SG60 vouchers for Pelago and Kris+

From 11-24 April 2025, Pelago will offer S$60 off selected attractions, tours and transport options worldwide for bookings made on pelago.com. A special promo code will be sent via SIA’s and KrisFlyer’s eDM from 11 April 2025 onwards.

From 1-31 August 2025, Kris+ will be offering SG60 vouchers valued at S$6 and S$60 for use at participating dining and retail partners.

Special lounge and inflight meals

Singapore Airlines will serve several classic Singapore hawker dishes on selected flights departing from Singapore.

Suites, First and Business Class	1 July to 30 September 2025
Premium Economy and Economy Class	1 August to 30 September 2025

Suites, First Class and Business Class passengers can look forward to fried carrot cake, roti prata, and dry bak chor mee, as well as a Singaporean dessert. Premium Economy and Economy Class passengers can choose a Singaporean main dish from the menu, and a Singaporean dessert.

The SilverKris Lounges at Changi Terminals 2 and 3 will also feature hawker dishes in August 2025.

I have fond memories of the Singapore Airlines’ past hawker collaborations with names like Chew Kee Soya Sauce Chicken Noodle, Song Heng Bak Chor Mee and Kok Kee Wanton Mee. There was a period in 2023 where I ordered these items religiously — never mind the keyboard warriors who derided these as “unworthy” of First Class — because I liked them so much. 

However, after the tie-up ended, SATS took over with their own recipes and the quality really went downhill from there. The hawker items I’ve ordered in recent months have verged on inedible, and I wouldn’t recommend it now (is it any wonder that SIA is casting sideways glances at Accor for its lounges?).

Conclusion

Singapore Airlines and Scoot have announced a series of promotions to celebrate Singapore’s 60th birthday, with the SG60 fare deals and upsized Spontaneous Escapes probably of greatest interest to most readers. You’ll need to wait a few more months for the Spontaneous Escapes deal, but the SG60 fare deals will launch imminently. 

There will also be special hawker meals to look forward to in the lounges and onboard flights, with additional Singapore-centric programming in the KrisWorld inflight entertainment system.
