Looks like the sweltering heat is here to stay in Singapore for a while.
The daily maximum temperatures in the first fortnight of June 2025 will likely be around 34 °C on most days, said the Meteorological Service Singapore.
Temperatures could reach 35°C on a few days as well.
The nights are also likely to be warm and humid, with temperatures staying around 29°C on several nights.
The first fortnight will also see localised short-duration thunder showers over parts of the island in the late morning and afternoon on some days.
In addition, Sumatra squalls may bring widespread thunder showers and gusty winds in the early morning on a few days.
36.2°C in Paya Lebar
In the second half of May 2025, daily maximum temperatures across the island registered above 35°C on several days.
The highest daily maximum temperature of 36.2°C was recorded at Paya Lebar on May 24, 2025.
Singapore also recorded below-average rainfall in the second half of May 2025.
However, on May 18, 2025, a Sumatra squall brought widespread thunder showers over Singapore in the late morning and early afternoon.
