Discover the Innovator Leading K-Beauty’s Inclusivity Movement
Darcei Giles, a beauty influencer from Toronto, has been making waves with her social media series, “Black Girl Tries.” Known for experimenting with makeup styles and products not typically associated with Black women, she recently spotlighted a cushion foundation by Korean brand TirTir, highlighting its coverage but noting its lack of shade diversity. As a result, TirTir expanded their foundation shades from nine to 40, making it one of the most inclusive ranges in K-beauty for the US and UK markets.
Darcei has also collaborated with another K-beauty brand, Parnell, to develop a 40-shade range for their new Cicamanu Serum Foundation. This reflects her influence and underscores the significant purchasing power of Black beauty consumers in the Western market.
