L’Oréal Set to Purchase Medik8 Skin Care Brand

L’Oréal is expanding its luxury skincare portfolio by acquiring a majority stake in Medik8, a UK-based brand known for its science-backed products. The acquisition includes retaining minority shares by Inflexion, a private equity firm, while Medik8’s founder, Eliot Isaacs, will stay on the board. The financial details were not disclosed, but L’Oréal intends to fully buy out remaining shareholders in the future.

This move aligns with L’Oréal’s strategy to strengthen its luxe offerings with premium skincare brands, emphasizing global growth. Medik8, founded in 2009, is renowned for its Crystal Retinal serum and CSA Philosophy, which combines Vitamin C, sunscreen, and Vitamin A. The brand, experiencing significant growth, especially in the US market, projects global revenues to reach around $115 million by 2025.
