Plane makes unexpected Boston landing after iPad found jammed in seat


Lufthansa Flight LH453 from Los Angeles to Munich made an unscheduled stopover in Boston early Thursday morning because an iPad got jammed in a business class seat.According to Lufthansa, the flight crew and air traffic controllers were concerned about the iPad overheating and causing a fire, as it was already showing visible signs of deformation due to the seat’s movements.The plane landed safely at Logan Airport around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, a Lufthansa technical team was able to get the iPad out.All 461 passengers continued on with their trip, landing in Munich at 4:35 p.m. Central European time, three hours later than originally planned.Lufthansa said the stopover was “a purely precautionary measure” taken in the interest of passenger safety.
